July 22 2016
The hot sun on the 9th of July 2016 was just the icing needed on the already well planned out Igbo day event. Now you must be wondering, "igbo day? There's nothing like that", well there is, in Britain that is. The Congress of Igbo Leaders in the UK and Ireland founded the Igbo Festival of Arts and Culture in 2012 and since then, the annual event has only gotten better and better.
This year's event included Igbo Cultural Plays,Dance and Drama, Masquerades,Traditional Dances,Traditional Artists, Historical and Traditional Artifacts, Live performances but to mention a few. There was also a dancing competition amongst the different igbo groups that were present and the Umuneke society (my group) came second. Yaay!
The Event was amazing, fun and filled with culture. If you missed it, check out some pictures from the vent below. Watch out for Next year's one because it can only get better.
